SSB: My Thoughts

Throughout the years of being in school, we are taught so much. We learn everyday, grow, and are taught skills, which we will need and one day use to go into the real world and become adults. Students are taught how to be ready for college. After we have accomplished all 12 years of education, we are given a diploma as a reward.

The senior seminar board taught me so much and helped me gain a little more confidence in speaking in front of a crowd of people. We were told to create a slideshow and present it in front of our classmates and some adults. As an adult, I will defiantly be needing and using these skills. Especially in college, when I purse my career. As a student, this was a great opportunity to learn and realize what we will need to know after high school, whether we go to college or go straight into work. We must be prepared or have a plan.

Often times, we don't get the opportunity to speak in front of adults, such as when when we presented our speech at the senior seminar board. My classmates and I had the great opportunity to have adults come watch our presentations and even ask us a few questions, which was great! Doing this presentation meant being prepared to speak and that is a great skill we learned by doing this presentation. In order to present we must've been ready, maybe have practiced some and that is a skill we also learned. We must be prepared.

Overall, the senior seminar board taught me skills I will be using in the future. I did not think I was that good at public speaking but I took what I have learned throughout the years in school and used it in this case, to prepare myself for this speech and it helped me a lot.
