Salem Witch Trials
Are witches real? For so many years, there has been doubts on whether witches are real or not. Some people believe so, others believe otherwise. The Salem Witch Trials occurred in the 1960 and they were believed to be caused by Moldy Rye.
"The women accused were Sarah Good, a homeless woman, Sarah Osborne, a woman who was twice-married and rarely attended church, and Tituba, a woman who was a slave of either Native American or African descent." These women were being accused of doing spells on four young girls. Were they being accused because of their lifestyles? Now a days, a lot of people get judged or looked at differently for their appearance or for what they've heard of them. The people in the village should've confirmed that it was really them before accusing them.
"Today, the most promising theory is one first floated in the 1970s, when a young psychology student named Linnda Caporael noticed the similarities between the girls’ symptoms and the effects of the drug LSD." Witch crafts may or may not still exist but one thing is for sure, the symptoms are the same as being on the drug LSD as studies show. People who are on that drug may be accused of being witches. So do witches and witch crafts still exist? Or are people just being accused of such thing because of their appearance?
When I was younger, my siblings and I would run around the house after being told not to and of course, one of my younger siblings would end up breaking something and I would be the one who would be getting accused of it and get told that I'm the one responsible for what happened. It would bother me so much to be the one getting in trouble and getting accused when it wasn't all my fault, so I can't even begin to imagine how these poor women felt.
I believe in witches ad witch crafts, so I do believe such thing did exist at some point. It may or may not still exist but if it doesn't, it will come back. It could be in a few years or a decade or two.
