Ladybugs or Asian Beetles?
Ladybugs and Asian Beetles have been known to look the same, even though they are different type of insects. Asian Beetles are small and have small spots like ladybugs, although they can be found spotless. How do we know if we are dealing with a lady bug or an Asian Beetle?
According to the article "The Lady Bug", the Asian Lady Beetles are aggressive. Ladybugs are known to give good luck. As said in the article. "Masses of ladybugs have been known to swarm and even bite when seeking shelter for the winter months. In this regard, they have been an unwelcome guest for homeowners that don't find them to be good luck at all, but rather a nuisance." All along, since we were younger, we were taught that if a ladybug landed on you, you were going to have good luck! Although, that's not quite the case with Asian Beetles.
Asian Beetles can be found in the United States anywhere from schools, to homes, jobs, parks and probably anywhere you can think of. Their colors can vary from red and orange to a dull cream. It may be hard to tell the difference from a ladybug and an Asian Beetle, so we have to be sure and be very careful when we see a ladybug, it could be an Asian Beetle.
I would have never thought that there would be such thing as something similar to a ladybug that would be called an Asian Beetle and cause such harm. My whole life I was taught to believe that ladybugs were good luck and never did no harm, which they don't but Asian Beetles are and i'm not sure if I can tell the difference between them yet, they look so much alike.
